“A dog does not live as long as a man and this natural law is the fount of many tears. If boy and puppy might grow to manhood and doghood together, and together grow old, and so in due course die, full many a heartache might be avoided. But the world is not so ordered, and dogs will die and men will weep for them so long as there are dogs and men."

What is WOODS DOG? PDF Print E-mail

WOODS DOG is a story (a short book, really) about my dog, Ranger, and the segment of time we shared together. The book is free and is available on this website. Go to the Woods Dog tab and click "Download Woods Dog." You can also send WOODS DOG to a friend by clicking on "Share Woods Dog." This website, then, is a place for readers of WOODS DOG to communicate with me and even each other. In the book, I say, "Pet ownership is not a casual event." All pet owners know this. Are You Reading a "Dog Book"? PDF Print E-mail

I am currently reading a short book called, "Fourteen Years with Buster," written by Laura Jane Schrock, M.D. (with Susan Jean Anderson, D. Ed.). A friend let me borrow it, but I think it can be purchased in a store-front in Ligonier, PA. Buster was a Jack Russell terrier and a great friend to the author! I am only on chapter 4, so I'll have to re-visit this message to update you as I get further into the book. In the meantime, please let me (and all of us) know what you're reading. Give us a brief description and let us know your thoughts/opinions. Simply email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and put "dog book" in the subject line. Please include your name (at least first) and hometown with your message.
